I took a walk one afternoon around the UK Arboretum, a gorgeous garden near downtown Lexington. Gardens are so inspiring for me…all the color, different textures and shapes, the sounds, the breeze…it’s an unending supply of beauty! I snapped a few photos to reference later for a painting or two. When I began these pieces my goal was to capture the essence of the scene, but add the whimsical feel of a storybook garden.
