My Kentucky roots play a big role in how I approach field paintings. I grew up in a town surrounded by rolling fields of blue-green grass, sunny patches of flat pasture, clusters of deep green trees and wildflowers peppered throughout. These fields feel like home to me. I love the vast nature of this piece, that you not only see the patches of flowers, but are also drawn into what lies ahead in the distance.
